Dan has around 40 years of experience in the Jewelry trade. He began learning how to cut stones around the age of 13. He began carving waxes in high school to fashion mountings for the stones that were cut. After getting married, Dan began working for a jewelry manufacturer in Grand Rapids. Sadly, through the nine years working for the company his hands took massive abuse while setting which resulted in carpal tunnel surgeries in both hands as well as a titanium implant. Thankfully, Dan recovered and after working in a series of other jewelry stores, he decided to open his own business in 1996.
Dan is our main bench man. He does casting, hand-engraving, jewelry design, jewelry repair, lapidary services, stone setting, torch work, wax carving and more! Although he is busy in the back most of the time, he is available by appointment and occasionally helps in the showroom.
